GARDEN COMPETITION RESULTS

A week later than anticipated Retreat’s 2023 Garden Competition saw a multitude of creativity amongst all entrants. It was great to see all the gardens fitting within this years criteria of wetlands and pollinating patches. It was also great to see the initiative to create posters with the gardens.

The Judges were impressed with the wide variety of plants especially the pollinating plants. There were also lots of bug hotels , bird boxes and ponds creating many places for insects, bees, frogs and other creatures.

Due to such great standard of garden’s it was very difficult to separate clear winners with ties in the top 3 places. The standings are as follows below.

Joint 1st Place: 16 Middle Valley & 3 Links Corner

Joint 2nd Place: 24 Middle Valley & 11 Lilac Grove

Joint 3rd Place: 37 Beach Walk & 26 Beach Walk

Well done to all who entered making retreat a haven for wildlife alongside helping our pledge for nature in our David Bellamy Wetlands and pollinating patches challenge.
