3 Things To Consider When Buying A New Static Caravan

When buying a static caravan, there is a lot more to consider than just it’s looks. Many people focus on aesthetics and do not consider the other factors involved. Make sure to not buy on impulse and look further into what you want.

One of the major things to consider is your location of choice. You want to choose somewhere that best fits you. Therefore, make sure you have visited the area, looked around and know what there is to do. You want to pick somewhere that is suitable for you and what you enjoy. If you have children, you might prefer somewhere with lots to do and activities for kids. Whereas if you are more interested in landscapes, somewhere with a good scenery and lots to go and see would be a better choice. Think about what you want from a caravan park; you might prefer somewhere with lots of activities going on or maybe somewhere with restaurants and a spa for a more relaxed experience when you come to your caravan.

Considering your budget is an important factor that you need to think about if you want to buy a new or pre-owned static caravan. While buying a new caravan will be more costly, it could save you money in the long run on maintenance issues. You also need to find out if the caravan park you use has a limit on the age of the caravans there. Many caravan parks like to keep the park new and looking it’s best, meaning that many will only allow static caravans to stay for a certain number of years or until they reach a specific age.  You would need to find this out and make sure the caravan you choose fits the time frame if needed.

Many people will purchase a static caravan and do not consider the other bills they will need to pay towards it. Site fees, gas, electric, insurance, TV licence and maintenance fees if needed. It all adds up and can be very expensive. Therefore, making a list of these bills might be a good idea to find out a monthly cost.

How to make the most of a Short Weekend Away

Everyone needs a weekend away every now and again, but what’s the point if you aren’t making the most of it?

Retreat Caravan Park offers facilities to help you enjoy your stay with us. As we are dog-friendly you can bring all the family along and take a stroll to the miles and miles of sandy beaches by taking our designated pathway right to it.

You may feel like looking at some of the local landscapes and seeing what Somerset has to offer. With lots of historical attractions nearby such as the Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Tor and the Cheddar Gorge and Caves, there’s so much to learn about where you’re staying. However, if this isn’t for you, then there are nearby towns centres and shops to take a browse in. The town centre is only half a mile down the road from our site where there is a swimming pool, cinema and endless amounts of shops; there are always things to do and take part in.

When you find yourself ready for a nice meal, try a recommended restaurant or café. Ask the team at Retreat Caravan Park and they will share any experiences and where would be best for your desires. We can even suggest activities to do during your stay if you aren’t sure. In our town centre, in Burnham-On-Sea, you can visit Brean play, our local play centre for kids. Places like this can be useful to make sure everyone in your family can have fun.

If you don’t feel like going out one day, maybe try bringing board games, cards or films to watch; have a relaxing day in and unwind. Quality time with whoever you may bring is still a good way to make the most of your time away.
