An early 1950’s aerial view of The Retreat and you can still see 2 of the old Nissan Huts. Fourwinds had just been built. And look at the lack of dunes in Beach Walk – thankfully now we are protected by a great swathe of sea buckthorn planted by my grandfather and father to protect us from the wind and tides. You can also see the Golf Course Club House and St Christopher’s School at the top of the photo. The Low Lighthouse standing proudly at the bottom of the picture which has become an iconic landmark for #BurnhamonSea.
